NB: Please note we are only closed to new cases and call-outs, intakes, new feeding cases, or new vet cases (we canโt help, sorry). All our other commitments continue as usual.
Unfortunately, SAFE is in a horrible position at the moment; where we can't help or take in more until we sort out what we owe and cover the commitments to the animals we have already rescued.

We have struggled over the past 4 months, with only a handful of loyal wonderful supporters donating (thank you so much), and it has caught up. We have hung on, but what we have to pay out this month, we just donโt have.
We do not have big donors or corporate sponsors
We are not government-funded
For those who know SAFE, we are a small, dedicated team who draw no salaries from SAFE, but we cover a huge area in Durban on rescue, abuse cases, feeding, sterilisation and rehoming. We try so hard to cover expenses without having to beg, and we do as many events as we can fit in to cover, but its just not nearly enough.
We have bills that need to be paid by the 25th and 26th of this month, and we just donโt have it (3 days away). The bills due are all basic, vital areas that canโt be avoided in what we do, or an animal suffers.
๐๐ We are SO GRATEFUL to our loyal donors for every cent, but right now the mountain is bigger than we can climb, unless there is a miracle. Our hearts are breaking for all those we will not be able to help, and we are devastated and stressed, but unless we clear what we currently owe due to the number of cases we have had, we just can't help more.
