Successful Grade 11 MathSci Career Coaching Inspires Learners at Tlokweng Community Library

On the 5th of March 2026, Pella-Matlhako Development Group (PMDG) successfully hosted a Grade 11 MathSci Career Coaching session at the Tlokweng Community Library.

The event brought together enthusiastic 100x learners who are currently studying Mathematics and Science, with the aim of guiding and motivating them as they prepare for their future careers.

Learners attended were from the following schools

1.Morare High School - Pella
2. Sewagodimo Technical High School - Pella
3. Kgosibodiba Secondary School - Tlokweng
4. Reipuseng Senior Secondary School - Vrede
5. Gabonewe Commercial School - Madikwe

The session focused on empowering learners with valuable information about career opportunities available within the Mathematics and Science streams.

Learners were encouraged to start thinking seriously about their career paths early and to understand the subject requirements needed for various professions before reaching Grade 12.

Guest speaker - Mr Kat Mogopodi and professionals from different sectors shared their experiences and insights, helping learners gain a clearer understanding of opportunities within the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) fields.

The interactive session allowed learners to ask questions, engage with the speakers, and gain practical advice on how to prepare for their future studies and careers.

The program also aimed to motivate learners to remain committed to their studies, make informed subject choices, and work hard towards achieving their academic goals. Many learners expressed excitement and appreciation for the opportunity to learn directly from professionals and career mentors.

PMDG extends its sincere appreciation to all stakeholders, Dept of Education - Mogwase, Schools and Guest speaker who contributed to the success of the event.

Special thanks also go to the management of the Tlokweng Community Library for hosting the session and providing a conducive learning environment for the learners.

Through initiatives such as the MathSci Career Coaching, PMDG continues to play a vital role in guiding and inspiring young people to pursue careers in Mathematics, Science, and other critical fields.

The organization remains committed to empowering learners with knowledge, mentorship, and opportunities that will help shape a brighter future for the next generation
