ALMOST THERE!!!
We are super-excited that our largest fundraising event of each year, the Hill's 1000 Paws Walk for SPCAs, is almost HERE! Taking place this Sunday, 7 June, at Highgate Wine Estate (next to Piggly Wiggly on the R103 near Howick), this event offers pets and their owners a wonderful, relaxed environment to enjoy a stroll in their own time. It's not a race - start when you want to between 8am and 1pm. There is the choice of the shorter, easier Puppies and Pensioners route (2km) or the more challenging 4km Adults and Athletes route that loops around the Highgate/Piggly Wiggly property.
There's also a lot of fun to be had in the arena events, with the paper plate challenge featuring sniffer dogs from the K9 Academy in Rosetta sniffing out the winner of a stunning stay at Cleopatra's Mountain Farmhouse in the magnificent Kamberg.
Get your pet-and-owner portrait taken between 9.30 and 10.30 by Jennifer Miller, and take home a special memento of the day.
The winners of the 1000 Paws raffle will be drawn at 12.30, and we'll know who'll be heading off to luxury getaways at The Cavern, Cathedral Peak, and Champagne Sports Resort. Sincere thanks to the kind people who donated these MUST-HAVE prizes!
