YOUTH EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY – MODIMOLLE, LIMPOPO

Seriti Institute and the National Youth Development Agency (NYDA), invites applications from unemployed young people and Team Leaders to participate in the National Youth Service (NYS) Programme, part of the Presidential Youth Employment Initiative (PYEI).

This six-month opportunity provides practical work experience, skills development, training, community service, and a monthly stipend.

Available Opportunities

Successful applicants will be placed in one of the following workstreams:

1. aRe-Bapaleng ECD Champions

Support parents, caregivers, schools, and ECD centres.
Promote child development, learning through play, literacy, and school readiness.

2. ♻️ GreenWorks Champions

Support environmental sustainability initiatives.
Participate in community clean-ups, recycling, tree planting, environmental awareness, and climate resilience activities.

3. 🥕 Agriculture & Food Security Champions

Support community food gardens and food security initiatives.
Promote nutrition awareness, composting, and sustainable food production.

4. 💻 Digi Champions

Support digital literacy, administration, data collection, and technology-based community development initiatives.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must:

✅ Reside within a 5 km radius of:

505 Kekana Street, Phagameng, Modimolle, 0510

✅ Be between 18 and 35 years old
✅ Be a South African citizen with a valid ID
✅ Have:

Minimum Grade 10 (Participants)
Minimum Grade 12 (Team Leaders)

✅ Be available to work 16 hours per week (4 hours per day for 4 days per week)
✅ Be unemployed and not participating in another social employment programme (SEF, EPWP, BEEI, or CWP)
✅ Provide a police clearance certificate or affidavit if placed at an ECD centre or school
✅ Not be receiving NSFAS funding

Interest in community development and social impact
Interest in ECD, agriculture, environmental work, or digital skills
Good communication and teamwork skills

Stipend

💰 Participants: R24.18 per hour
💰 Team Leaders: R30.23 per hour

Programme Duration

📅 July 2026 – December 2026 (6 Months)
