Churches, synagogues and mosques can sometimes be dark places, but light is crucial for those with low vision and those who have a hearing impairment, who may lip-read or require an interpreter or lip-speaking practitioner.

Ensuring that the speaker has light on their face and not behind them will help tremendously.

There are currently many initiatives dominating social media platforms which deal with the challenge facing girls in impoverished communities who remain out of school due to a lack of adequate feminine protection products.

Too often, girls and women with disabilities are spoken for instead of listened to. Real inclusion means ensuring every woman has the knowledge, support, and freedom to make decisions about her own body and future.

This Monday, let's remember: dignity grows where choice is respected.
