Some inspiration for the weekend
- We are excited to announce the launch of our new mentoring platform, designed specifically for high school students (All genders), going live on October 1st.

Having witnessed the transformative power of mentorship from an early age, we believe this platform will offer invaluable support for students' academic and personal development.

To illustrate the positive impact of this initiative, we would like to share the inspiring stories of two students we have mentored since early high school and they are now studying Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics ( ) degrees

Sihle is currently studying Economic Science and Informatics at Northwest University in South Africa, while Kwakhanya is pursuing Biomedical Engineering at Georgetown University in the United States.

- We had the honour of attending the Women’s Month celebrations hosted by the Tourism Business Council of South Africa (TBCSA) at Constitutional Hill, where we participated in a leadership panel discussion titled "The Growing Participation of Women in Tourism."

During this session, we emphasised aviation's important role as a key enabler and driver of tourism. We also explored emerging aviation technologies that support the tourism sector.

Some of the key points highlighted included:

- The importance of leadership sponsorship, which is important l for fostering advancement, emphasising that mentorship alone is insufficient for women’s advancement in leadership positions

- Visibility should be accompanied by access to training and authentic opportunities.

- The importance of data-driven interventions

Ms Jenni Vermaas, Industry Growth Manager at Cape Town Tourism, expertly moderated the panel. Other esteemed panellists included:

In Celebration of Women’s Month in South Africa and International Youth Day, we had an incredible opportunity to participate in an empowering girl child career workshop, organised by Good Governance Africa at the Flight Centre in Johannesburg. Our ambassador/volunteer, a qualified commercial pilot and flight instructor, Anathi Sithole cofacilitated a session with a fellow Pilot/Flight instructor and director of Paramount Flight Academy, Kaela Seoe. Together, they shared their personal journeys in the field, offering invaluable insights and advice. The session included an engaging and high-energy Q&A segment where the girls asked questions, excited to learn more about what it takes to succeed in the industry.

The girls also had an opportunity to hear from several other aviation professionals, including Tebello Mokhema, the head of Airport Company South Africa (ACSA) Aviation Academy, and Candy Kasongomona.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Candy, Gail, and all the partners for including us in this impactful event. It was truly a pleasure spending time with the young girls and witnessing their excitement and aspirations for the future.
