MGCA Facilitates Strategic Siemens Roundtable to Advance Mpumalanga’s Just Energy Transition
On 1 October 2026, the Mpumalanga Green Cluster Agency (MGCA), in collaboration with Siemens and JUST SA, coordinated the Mpumalanga Just Energy Transition (JET) Roundtable in Middelburg.
The engagement brought together representatives from provincial and local government, industry, the mining and energy sectors, and development partners to explore practical opportunities for collaboration in advancing Mpumalanga’s Just Energy Transition.
Discussions focused on renewable energy, water, infrastructure, skills development, enterprise support and community development, with particular attention to the transition challenges and opportunities in Hendrina and the Steve Tshwete Local Municipality.
The roundtable provided an important platform to identify potential partnerships, connect priority projects with industry expertise and explore opportunities for investment and sustainable economic diversification.
Through engagements of this nature, MGCA continues to strengthen collaboration between government, the private sector and development partners, working towards a just, inclusive and sustainable green economy that creates opportunities for the people of Mpumalanga.
