Protecting children is not the responsibility of one organisation alone. It requires families, communities, schools, and child protection organisations standing together — noticing, caring, and acting when children are vulnerable.
This Child Protection Week, we are reminded of a shared responsibility: "working together in ending violence against children"
Child protection services are not always easy or popular, and decisions are not always understood. However, they are guided by one clear principle: **the best interest of the child**. Even when difficult decisions must be made, the focus remains on safety, wellbeing, and long-term protection.
When child protection services become part of a family’s journey, it can feel overwhelming and difficult. But it does not mean failure or hopelessness. It can also be a step toward healing, safety, and rebuilding stronger family environments. Hope is not lost in these moments — it is often where support, change, and protection begin.
These services are only possible through the support of funding and community contributions. If you want to make a difference in child protection, consider donating or supporting organisations that work directly with vulnerable children and families. Your contribution helps ensure that care, intervention, and protection can continue where it is needed most.
We also extend our heartfelt gratitude to every person who is making a difference in their own way across our communities — teachers, church youth leaders and Sunday school leaders, coaches, therapists, social workers, child and youth care workers, volunteers, donors, and the courts that play a vital role in ensuring legal protection and safeguarding decisions for children. Your daily commitment to children’s wellbeing is seen, valued, and deeply appreciated.
At CMR Mpumalanga, we remain committed to walking alongside children and families through support, care, and protection services that strengthen hope and restore dignity.
Let us be a community that does not look away — but reaches out.
Be Love. Spread Light. Live Hope.
