🐴OUTREACH IN ACTION – KURUMAN
Our recent outreach to Kuruman was another reminder that lasting change begins with education.
Outreach isn’t simply about treating a wound or replacing a piece of equipment. It’s about working alongside owners, sharing knowledge and helping them understand how small changes can make a very big difference to the comfort and welfare of their horses.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of our supporters, we were able to replace harsh, rusty bits with more suitable ones and provide much-needed halters, bridles and other tack. Every item donated to HHCU has the potential to make a real difference – and these photographs show your donations being put to very good use.
There was plenty of hands-on care too. Solly attended to wounds, important farriery work was done, all while using the opportunity to educate and guide owners.
And now we begin preparing for the next trip to Kuruman. We would be extremely grateful for donations of bits, bridles and halters – new or good-quality used items are equally welcome.
Sometimes something sitting unused in your tack room can become something invaluable to a horse hundreds of kilometres away.
Thank you to everyone who continues to support our outreach programme.
Together, through education, practical assistance and compassion, we can improve the lives of working equines and the communities who depend on them.
