The Club and Melkbos Friends of Rotary are presently involved in a NeoNatal project for WestFleur Hospital at Atlantis and a very special local lady who provides Emergency Places of Safety for abandoned babies. She is currently caring for her 244th baby in the last 31 years. She has been awarded the 'Kangaroo Mum of the Year by CofCT Social Services for her work.
We are doing our best to support the youngest of our community.
Last week we all joined forces in an evening of sewing new blankets, packing donated soft toys, knitted pullovers, beanies and mittens - a huge thankyou to everyone who helps us with donations and the work of Club members that night.

Today Smokie Le Grange from Melkbosstrand Ratepayers Association and Past President June and Secretary Lee from Melkbos Rotary Club attended and distributed Gifts and School Stationary to the children of Varkplas Settlement.
So good to see so many happy, smiling faces. Thankyou to Jolene for making the visit possible.

This week members of Rotary Club of Melkbos distributed Silver Santa gifts to some Senior Citizens in Melkbosstrand and Duynefontine in their own homes It was a pleasure to visit them and spend time with them. The smiles and memories that we awakened are a reminder of the difficulties that still exist in our community.
