GeaSphere

GeaSphere GeaSphere. For the Wilderness we Love. One Land, One Life,
many sounds. GeaSphere is a South African ‘Not for profit’ organisation registered in 2003.

We campaign for the protection of Southern African water resources and the threatened grassland ecosystem, and oppose the expansion and entrenchment of the industrial timber plantation model (fake forestry). We are actively engaged in land restoration in the Sudwala Rainforest Valley of Mpumalanga, South Africa.

The cutest little furry bum duo you will see today. Cane rats on an outing.
A large rodent, the can have a body length of 35–60 centimetres, and attain weights of around 3-6kg. They live in marshy areas, along rivers and lakes, feeding on aquatic grasses.

The teeny tiny Red forest duiker. A mere 42cm at the shoulders, they dwell in the forests along the Mpumalanga escarpment.
As browsers they eat mainly leaves, shoots, seeds, fruit, buds and bark. They supplement their diet with meat by occasionally eating insects and carrion, or catching rodents or small birds.
