Nelspruit Lions ladies and Lions were there to provide and serve when Claudette Erasmus, Mrs Mpumalanga finalist 2026, organised a Mummy and Me High Tea on Saturday, 10 October. The event featured speakers, raffles and fun gifts and prizes, and the funds raised were donated to CHOC Mpumalanga, a cause close to all our hearts.

It's September, which is Arbour Month.

Nelspruit Lions Club went along today to one of our favourite places, Kamagugu Special School, to plant seven fruit trees. These had been kindly donated by Dane Ross of Montana Nursery, and Robbie Stevenson from the Orchid Stall, both in Alkmaar, Mbombela.

5 Lions and 2 friends got physical with spades and pickaxes.

On Friday, 21 August, Nelspruit Lions helped entertain a group of learners and staff from Pro Gratia Learning Centre in Mbombela.

Sponsored by BAIC car dealership, the learners and staff were given boerewors rolls and cool drinks, and then treated to tickets to the Currie Cup match between the Pumas and the Griquas at the Mbombela Stadium.

A fun time was had by all.

Our Women's Day event in Kanyamazane.

Yesterday, Nelspruit Lions Club joined forces with and scheduled a Women's Health Day in Kanyamazane.

The day started with a quick aerobics session, after which attendees were screened for blood pressure and blood sugar levels, and then had their eyes checked.

Our club issued over 50 pairs of spectacles for free, and several referral letters were issued for high blood pressure and blood glucose.

We had around 90 residents of Kanyamazane join us over the course of the day.

We would particularly like to thank Dave Kenyon Optometrist - both Dave and Callan, Nelspruit Mediclinic for providing the blood pressure monitor and a nursing sister, and Dr Anju Koirala along with Sisters Carol Silinda and Mbali Lekhuleni from Rob Ferreira Hospital. These people gave willingly of their time to help us serve our community on a public holiday! Also a huge vote of thanks to Bella Zwane and Mpumi Dladla and their ladies, plus the Elshaddai Tabernacle Church for providing the venue.
