One common misconception about social work is that we tell clients what to do.
But that’s not our role.

🔹 Social work is not about giving instructions.
🔹 It’s about empowering people to make their own informed decisions.

Instead of saying “Do this…”
We say: “Here are your options…”

Why does this matter?

✔️ It respects the client’s dignity and autonomy
✔️ It builds confidence and decision-making skills
✔️ It avoids dependency on the social worker
✔️ It promotes long-term, sustainable change

Our Role as Social Workers
We guide, we support, we clarify but we do not impose.
Because real change happens when individuals choose their own path.

Don’t control the decision empower the choice.
