We’re excited to have Angelo as our guest speaker. Born in Manenberg and now living in Bonteheuwel, he has over two decades of mission experience locally and internationally and a heart for seeing God at work in local communities. I’m looking forward to hearing his story and what the Lord has been doing through his ministry in the Cape Flats.

Today we sat with a mother whose 23-year-old son was killed yesterday.
As she plans a funeral and carries on with life because she has to , I keep asking:
What does it mean to be present in such deep pain?
What does it mean to pray hope into a community marked by loss? How to comfort a mother who lost a child.
Maybe hope begins when we simply show up, listen, and refuse to look away. Acknowledge her pain and express our deepest condolences.

Today we reflected on how patterns create pathways, and pathways shape our behaviour and outcomes.

Some patterns bring healing.
Some reveal places that still need healing.

Whether intentional or not, we are always creating patterns in our lives.

What a morning at Pollsmoor Prison.
Sometimes we don’t realise how much of a difference it can make in someone’s life just to be listened to.

This morning, one of the women shared about the difficult reality of her case and the heaviness of the situation she currently finds herself in. In the midst of that, she told us that her favourite part of the day was simply being with us. What a reminder that presence matters.

Today we had the opportunity to be creative together, listen to her story, and pray with her. Sometimes the most powerful thing we can offer is not answers, but a listening ear, compassion, and hope.Everyone deserves to feel seen. Everyone deserves dignity.

Today love looked like listening.
Not rushing to answers.
Not trying to tidy up grief.
Just sitting with a mother, a grandmother carrying unimaginable loss, and honoring the weight she has had to bear.

In a home marked by sorrow, we prayed for hope to enter softly, for daily strength, for provision, for rest, for moments of joy to return,
and for peace that does not deny pain, but holds steady within it.

Sometimes healing begins not with solutions, but with being seen.
Today was about hearing the lament, recognizing that life is hard, and trusting that even tears can become prayer. walk
