The Mamelodi Initiative Today, more than 1,000 youth have benefited from programming provided through the initiative.

The Mamelodi Initiative is a Non-Profit Organization that empowers the community of Mamelodi through a series of youth development and academic acceleration programs. The Mamelodi Initiative was started in 2007 as a collaborative effort comprised of individuals who care about the future of the Mamelodi Township and its youth. While the initiative has been running in some form for the past five years, the programming took form in 2010, where a year-round model was developed and a focus on education was specifically formed. The coalition offers a variety of engaging opportunities, from computer literacy to sports to holiday camps, all aimed at improving and empowering Mamelodi teens.

It’s almost impossible to talk about real-time, tailored tutoring, mentorship and community development without talking about the Mamelodi Initiative. 😄
Here’s a little snippet of what our mini peer-group support looks like in practice.
This year, through our Road to Finals (RTF) programme, we supported almost 100 learners with focused academic support, mentorship and the kind of small-group attention that can make a big difference.

But we know there are many more learners and schools we can reach. So, if you believe in what we’re building, help us do more.

💡 .
🤝 with us.
🏫 us to schools.
📣 And most importantly, mention us in rooms where opportunities are being discussed.

Sometimes community development starts with a conversation. Make sure the Mamelodi Initiative is part of yours.

, , and in between, you will always find us doing some amazing work. We were at the tribunal competition a few weeks back, bringing the experience beyond classroom boards and engaging with the mentors, judges, stakeholders and more. Beyond the court case experience, we also had the opportunity to witness what daily life in the building looks like, talking about mergers, case alerts, price fixing, and more.
from the Competition Commission, the Competition Tribunal and the Competition Appeal Court, we were there!!!

POV: Our mood whenever we think about the fact that it has been more than a month since Winter Jam 2026 ended.

Is there anyone else who can relate? 😭 Someone bring back the WJ26 heat!!! 🥵
