What do you see?
A group of kids around a chess board. Yes. But do you see the story behind it?
This is the story of a private, Non-Profit township school serving the most underprivileged children in South Africa. Friends of the children in the picture have never seen a chess set, never learnt how to play and won’t ever know the wonderful educational and developmental value of the game.
I love the concentration! I love that children are learning to strategise, learning consequences of actions, learning to make calculated decisions, learning to respectfully compete with a peer.
Now that’s a story worth telling!
