On this *Freedom Month*, we don’t just speak of freedom, we live it through learning.

🖥️ Education is not a privilege, it’s a *right.*
📚 Learning is the path to *freedom*, *growth*, and *self-determination.*

These young minds chose to rise, to learn, and to lead. This is what empowerment looks like.

On the 18th of October 2024, Department of Social Development hosted a successful Provincial Youth Dialogue at Green Farm village in the Collins Chabane Local Municipality in collaboration with Tiyimeleni Youth Development (TYD). Together, we worked on planning and preparation to ensure the event's success, engaging and empowering the youth in our community. The event brought together key stakeholders and young people to engage in discussions around the challenges and opportunities for youth in our province.

The MEC for Social Development, Ms. Florence Radzilani, led the event with a strong call for impactful interventions to support young people. She was joined by prominent leaders, including the Acting Executive Mayor of Vhembe District Municipality, Cllr Grace Machovane, the Mayor of Collins Chabane Local Municipality, Cllr Shadrack Maluleke, and other representatives from the NYDA, LEDA, and local government structures.

The event provided a platform for young people to voice their concerns and aspirations. From issues of unemployment to persons with disabilities, youth representatives shared their challenges while proposing solutions for their development.

MEC Radzilani commended the resilience and determination of young leaders like Thabo Madimetja, a youth ambassador who shared his inspiring journey of transformation. She committed to supporting local cooperatives and emphasized the need for LEDA and NYDA to help young people achieve their developmental goals.

As Tiyimeleni Youth Development, we are proud to have facilitated this meaningful dialogue and to work with partners dedicated to uplifting the youth of Green Farm Village. This event marks a significant milestone in our journey to empower, educate, and elevate the next generation of leaders.
