Exactly 4 years ago our founder Letjobana Malapane initiated a campaign against GBVF teaching young girls in her community to understand & identify behaviour that makes them uncomfortable so that they can be able to report it.

We are proud of the efforts of the Women For Change Organisation for standing firm in their power and fighting for GBVF to be declared as a national disaster & for every South African that has played a role in fighting a system that did not protect women, children, men and members of the LGBTQI+ community that fell victim to GBVF.

We are catalyst for change that believes in education being one of the tools that young people can utitlise to Newport themselves.

A lot of young learners can not make their educational dreams a reality due to not having quality school shoes and uniforms of which leads to them being bullied & also dropping out of school.

Help us change lives & empower our young learners to remain in school by donating a pair or more of brand new school shoes and brand new uniforms to be donated to a local primary school in Glen Cowie, Sekhukhune.

Our founder Letjobana Malapane was one of the young people that attended the Makhuduthamaga.gov Youth Fund that was launched on the 16 May 2024 aimed at empowering existing & aspiring young entrepreneurs living under the Makhuduthamaga local municipality area.

It was an impactful event & launch that serves a purpose of addressing skills development challenges amongst young people living in rural villages in and around Makhuduthamaga by giving them an opportunity to venture into entrepreneurship.

We are very passionate about ensuring that young people in rural & township villages have access to such opportunities and hence we were proud to witness such a milestone.

An exciting opportunity for Youth owning businesses in the Makhuduthamaga area.

Makhuduthamaga Youth Fund (MYF) on the pipeline. The MLM invites young people (municipal residents only) to register their businesses on the Youth Business Database ahead of the new youth fund official launch event and application processes.

The Municipality will be launching MYF in May 2024 to initialise applications and selection processes.

MAKHUDUTHAMAGA LOCAL MUNICIPALITY AND NATIONAL YOUTH DEVELOPMENT AGENCY PARTNERSHIP

The Council of Makhuduthamaga Local Municipality (MLM) has set aside R1 million to fund and support youth-owned businesses in partnership with the NYDA. A Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) has been signed, and the NYDA agreed to top up additional R1 million to establish a R2 million Makhuduthamaga Youth Fund (MYF).

INTERESTED Youth business owners (startups and well-established) are required to submit the following information to be registered on the Youth Business Database:

(1) Name and type of business;
(2) Names) and contacts) of directors); (3) Business address; (4) Copy of business registration certificate, if available; (5) Any other business information, such as business profile.
