A Heartfelt Appeal: Picnic of Warmth & Hope – Mandela Day Donation Drive
In just days, we have a precious opportunity to bring comfort and dignity to 28 vulnerable children at Reatlegile Disability Centre in Tsetse Village.

Join us on 11 July 2026 at Mahikeng Mall for a meaningful family picnic and fun run as we rally together to keep the lights on and keep these children warm this winter.
Every donation will be personally delivered to the centre on Mandela Day, 18 July 2026. These children desperately need our support right now – the cold is biting, and basic necessities are scarce.

Your help is needed for the 28 learners at Reatlegile Disability Centre:
Warm tracksuits, jerseys & blankets
School shoes & sneakers
Non-perishable food items
Cleaning materials & toiletries (soap, toothpaste, sanitary pads, etc.)
Heaters for classrooms

Additional support for Fond Foundation operations:
Sensory toys & learning aids
Educational materials (books, stationery, crayons, notebooks)
Office supplies (printer paper, pens, toner, etc.)

This is more than a donation drive — it is an act of compassion that will directly touch young lives and give them hope.

Behind the smiles, the strength, and the silence, many men are carrying pain that nobody sees. They experience heartbreak, depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, disappointment, and overwhelming pressure — yet society often teaches them to suffer quietly.

This Men's Mental Health Month, F.O.N.D Foundation reminds every man that you do not have to carry your burdens alone.

It's okay, Mjita.
It's okay to cry.
It's okay to feel overwhelmed.
It's okay to ask for help.
It's okay to talk about your struggles.
It's okay to choose healing.

Your mental health matters. Your voice matters. Your life matters.

BROKEN PENCILS CAN STILL WRITE: A Transformational Dialogue on Healing, Accountability and Hope

Mahikeng, North West – 4 July 2026

The city of Mahikeng is set to host a powerful and thought-provoking event aimed at fostering healing, understanding, and meaningful conversations between men and women. Titled "Broken Pencils Can Still Write", the dialogue-based gathering will take place on Saturday, 4 July 2026, at Mmabatho Palms, from 11:00 to 16:00.
Hosted by renowned community leader and transformation advocate Amelia “Nnono” Konote, the event brings together a diverse panel of respected speakers, faith leaders, motivational speakers, and community influencers to engage in honest conversations about personal growth, relationships, healing, and accountability.

Under the theme "Becoming Living Witnesses: Stories That Shape, Heal and Empower," attendees will have the opportunity to hear real-life experiences and practical insights from speakers including Mo & Phindi, Preacher M. Masitsa, Bishop Sekvete, Lesego Lorekong, Koketso Molefe, Hlorigi Mulungwane, Bafokeng Brothers, Kgethang Konese, and Kerotse Kekgitshe.

The event seeks to challenge societal norms, encourage healthy dialogue, and provide a safe space for individuals to reflect on their personal journeys. Discussions will cover topics such as overcoming pain and heartbreak, building confidence through self-love, healing through understanding, strengthening communication in relationships, purposeful co-parenting, and taking accountability for one's life choices.
Speaking about the initiative, host Nnono Konote emphasized the importance of creating platforms where difficult conversations can lead to meaningful change.

This event is about reminding people that despite life's challenges and setbacks, they still have the power to rewrite their stories. Just like a broken pencil can still write, broken people can still heal, grow, and thrive.”

The event fee is R500 per person, which includes lunch, entertainment, and live performances. Tickets are available through Computicket.

When Passion Meets Love 💙

We recently hosted a heartfelt mini-workshop for parents and caregivers of children at Bodiri Primary School. Together, we explored essential knowledge on neurodevelopmental disorders, covering:

- Early signs and symptoms
- Where and how to get help
- Diagnosis and intervention pathways
- Treatment and ongoing support
- Children’s rights policies

Empowering families with accurate information is the first step toward breaking stigma, reducing delays in support, and giving every child the opportunity to thrive.

A huge thank you to all the parents, caregivers, and partners who showed up with open hearts and a shared commitment to our children’s wellbeing.

In the heart of Mahikeng (Mafikeng), North West Province, the FOND Foundation is working hard to support children and adults with disabilities at Reatlegile Disability Centre.
But right now, they're struggling to keep the lights on and provide basic warmth during the cold winter months. Every donation helps cover electricity, heating, and essential care so these vulnerable members of our community aren't left in the dark or cold.
