💙 HOW CAN WE REDUCE THE RISK OF SU***DE AMONG BOYS AND MEN?

Many boys and men are taught to be strong, independent and to hide their emotions. This can make it difficult for them to speak openly when they are struggling. Reducing the risk of su***de starts by creating safe spaces where boys and men can talk without fear of judgement, ask for help and receive support.
At Lesedi la Batho Community Centre, our Man2Man Support Group plays an important role in minimising these risks by providing a safe and supportive space for men to connect, share their experiences and discuss the challenges affecting their lives. Through meaningful conversations, peer support and guidance, participants are encouraged to seek help, build healthy coping mechanisms and support one another.

💬 Listen without judgement.
🤝 Encourage men to talk and seek support.
❤️ Check in on friends and family.
🧠 Promote healthy ways of dealing with challenges.
🫂 Remind every man that asking for help is a sign of strength.

Together, we can break the silence and create communities where boys and men know that they are not alone and that support is available.
