Exciting progress for Emma Park!

The first section of the Emma Park fence installation begins on 3 November, starting at the corner of 5th Avenue and 1st Street.  

We’ve already reached 59% of our R600 000 goal, which now includes funding for an additional pedestrian gate — thanks to the incredible generosity of Darrenwood Village residents, Linden residents and local businesses who have contributed so far.

Now, we need a collective push to reach 100%!
We’re calling especially on our business community — the heartbeat of Linden — to get behind this project. A safer, cleaner and more welcoming Emma Park will benefit you. When our public spaces thrive, so do our cafés, shops, and offices, bringing more visitors, visibility and neighbourhood pride.

• Beagle Watch will open & close the gates daily
• Joburg City Parks and Zoo will hold the wide-gate keys (spare with Darrenwood Security Gate 2)

The Emma Park Fence Project is a Darrenwood Village community initiative, supported by the Linden Community Association. This project is all about keeping Emma Park safe and clean for everyone to enjoy.The new fence will be a durable, black powder-coated design.🌿 We’ll soon share a graphic of the full layout.

After successful negotiations, the final project cost has been reduced to R592,006, and we’ve already raised an impressive R287,876!

We still need R304,130 to complete the project — and if 1,500 households each contribute at least R200, we’ll reach our goal! 💚

Exciting news, Linden! The LCA and Acquired Business Solutions have officially launched the Safe Streets Network Initiative, starting with cameras going live on 3rd Street Block 2.

Wonderful news, neighbours! ❤️

We’ve officially received approval from the City of Johannesburg to fence the entire Emma Park – a huge step toward restoring safety, beauty and pride in our neighbourhood.

Thanks to the incredible commitment of Darrenwood Village residents, they have already raised R185,000! 

Now we need your help to raise the remaining R300,000 to make it happen.

Imagine walking your dog, letting your kids play, or simply relaxing — in a park that’s safe, beautiful, and well cared for. This is what your contribution makes possible.  💚 If just 1,500 households each give at least R200, we’ll reach our goal.

This Saturday, join us for our Musical Heritage Month Parade – a moving celebration of music and community.

From there, the parade of musicians will bring the vibe to Njam,
Then roll into P**n,
Swing by Whippet,
Keep the rhythm going at Market Kokoro,
Head to Parea,
And finish with a grand finale at The Little Deli! 🎷🥁🎺
