Nisaa is opposed to all forms of oppression, exploitation and violence against women. Nisaa subscribes to the principle of non-sectarianism and social transformation. The organisation is dedicated to promoting and acknowledging women as individuals and collective empowerment and their contribution to politics, economics, social and community based activities. The Nisaa institute for Women’s Development is a non-profit, non-governmental organisation, which focuses on violence prevention and the empowerment of women who have been abused at the hands of their partners. The organisation has three offices and one shelter. Currently the organisation is seeking to employ a temporary housemother who will be required to work over the December period with a view to sub for housemothers when the need arises on a longer term basis:

- Ensure that the shelter is a safe and comfortable environment for clients this includes cleaning if required

- Conduct initial induction with all new clients admitted into the shelter

- Provide non-judgemental support to clients

- Escalate maintenance and repair of shelter to the Centre Manager

- Ensure clients and their children follow established facility guidelines especially concerning client safety, shelter rules and regulations

- Be familiar with emergency procedures and contact details

- Maintain client records at the shelter

- Other administrative duties.

- Care worker qualification preferred

Driver’s license preferred

The successful candidate should have at least one years experience in a community organisation, preferably in the gender sector.

The Nisaa institute for Women’s Development is a non-profit, non-governmental organisation, which focuses on violence prevention and the empowerment of women who have been abused at the hands of their partners. The organisation has three offices and one shelter. Currently the organisation is seeking to employ a Cook who’s primary responsibility would be to cook for shelter residents during the week. This is a part time job. Primary responsibilities would include:

- Cook at least two meals per day for shelter clients

- Occasionally bake birthday cakes

- Occasionally assist with refreshments for guests

- Ensure a clean and hygienic work environment

The successful candidate should have some training in cooking and baking, and hygiene

The Nisaa institute for Women’s Development is a non-profit, non-governmental organisation, which focuses on violence prevention and the empowerment of women who have been abused at the hands of their partners. The organisation has three offices and one shelter. Currently the organisation is seeking to employ a Driver / Handyman who will be required to carry out all driving and maintenance requirements for the organisation in line with the parameters noted below:

· Responsible and safe driving of clients and staff

· Driver for delivery and collection

· Ensure that the car is serviced regularly

· Ensure that the car’s tyres, oil and water checks are regularly conducted.

· Conduct routine checks and communicate with Centre Manager about maintenance requirements for the car and the shelter

The successful candidate should have a good driving track record..
