🌟 Youth Day 2026 – Lavender Hill Rising with Dreams and Hope
On 16 June 2026, the halls of Lavana Primary School were filled with laughter, inspiration, and the spirit of possibility as young people gathered for the Youth Day – Movie with the Stars celebration.
The programme opened with a warm welcome from MISA Young Workers Forum, setting the tone for a day dedicated to empowerment and unity. Soon after, the youth settled in with popcorn and cooldrinks to watch Remember the Titans β€” a film that reminded them that teamwork, resilience, and courage can overcome even the toughest challenges.
The highlight of the day came when Mr. Bennett Bailey, President of SAFA Cape Town, delivered a powerful motivational address. His message was clear: dreams are possible no matter where you may find yourself. He urged the youth to believe in their own strength, to rise above circumstances, and to embrace opportunities that can transform their futures.
Supported by MISA and partners such as Barons - Volkswagen N1 City, the event was more than just entertainment β€” it was a spark of hope. Each child left with a gift bag, a smile, and a renewed sense of purpose. Conversations began about future partnerships, about bringing light into the dark, and about building pathways for transformation in Lavender Hill.
The day closed with gratitude, photos, and shared meals β€” a reminder that community is strongest when it comes together.
On behalf of the youth, The Guardians of the National Treasure (GNT) extend heartfelt thanks to SAFA, MISA,Lavana Primary School, and all partners who made this day possible. Together, they are shaping a new story for Lavender Hill β€” one of dignity, upliftment, and dreams that rise beyond boundaries.

People, we see the truth on the ground
As our leaders make noise and fight each other for control,
As they jump camp and throw flames in the circus of life β€”

We, the people, stand in the ashes of their ambition.
People we see you. We see your need. We see your pain.

And we rise β€” not for spectacle, but for survival.
While they chase crowns, we build homes.
While they trade words, we feed families.
While they seek power, we seek peace.

Lavender Hill is not a stage. It is a heartbeat.
And we will not be silenced by the noise of the circus.
