World Elder Abuse Awareness Day - 15 June
Every older person deserves to feel safe, respected, and valued.
Today, as we observe World Elder Abuse Awareness Day, we reflect on this year's theme: "Beyond Awareness: Making Elder Abuse Prevention Work."
At the Issy Geshen Lamont Home for the Aged, we are privileged to care for and support elderly residents every day. This day reminds us that protecting older persons is not only the responsibility of caregivers and organisations—it is a responsibility shared by families, friends, neighbours, and communities.
By listening, speaking up, showing kindness, and looking out for one another, we can help prevent elder abuse and ensure that our seniors continue to live with dignity, respect, and the care they deserve.
Together, let us create communities where every older person feels valued, protected, and loved.
Because growing older should never mean becoming invisible.
