What a beautiful and purpose-filled two weeks it has been with Zanele Mokoena and the Impela Trading Team 🤍✨

Our Craft Life Skills Training Programme kicked off with beadwork training last week. Followed by leather and genuine animal hide crafting over this week and continuing into next week!

Watching creativity, confidence, and hidden talents come to life has been so special. We are reminded that when people are equipped with skills, faith begins to grow too 🙏🏽

Thank you to everyone who continues to pour into this journey with us 🧡

CERI’s 2026 Craft Program is officially underway!

Our incredible team and caregivers are currently learning the beautiful skill of beadwork under the guidance of instructor Zandile . This program is about so much more than creating crafts - it’s about building practical skills, restoring confidence, and creating opportunities for families to achieve financial independence and self-sustainability.

We are also deeply honoured to welcome our Vice President of Operations, Caitly McElroy, to South Africa during the commencement of this special programme. Your presence, encouragement, and support mean so much to our CERI family. 🇿🇦🧡

🧡🧡

CERI had a wonderful experience attending Austin Together's 4th annual Collaborative Community Summit!

We are grateful for the opportunity to learn from other local organizations and strengthen our connections.

The summit included an insightful and powerful fireside conversation with Brené Brown, Dr. Colette Pierce Burnette of Waterloo Greenway, and a super engaging choral experience by Conspirare. What a blast! 🧡

Stronger families build safer communities 🤝

Today CERI, in collaboration with the Department of Social Development, hosted a Social Crime Awareness Workshop focused on understanding the roots of crime that are often shaped by psychological and environmental factors, and too often affecting those closest to us.

Together, we continue to work toward healing, strengthening families, and protecting our children and communities 🧡.

Standing in the gap, together 🧡

Through our Standing in the Gap campaign, we’ve reached 190 children - ensuring they step into school with dignity and confidence. As learners begin their Term 1 test cycles, we pray and wish you strength, focus, and success.

Remember, the CERI Community Centre is open as a safe space for studying and research to all.

To our donors, principals, teachers, and learner support personnel - thank you for walking this journey with us. Your continued support makes impact possible.

Standing in the Gap for children who need it most.

CERI has been on the ground in the Ladysmith community, reaching 100 learners through our continuous Standing in the Gap campaign — with 50 pairs of school shoes and 50 dignity packs distributed to support children’s everyday needs.

For many children, something as simple as a pair of shoes or access to basic hygiene can make the difference between feeling left out and walking into school with confidence and dignity. By meeting these needs, we are helping protect childhood and reminding every learner that they matter.

May we continue to strengthen our communities and protect childhood together 🧡🤍.
