Did you know❓️❓️❓️❓️

Back to School held a Funwalk Charity Event?? 🌟💚

On 27th September 2025, we collaborated with an amazing society for a fun-filled day of walking, learning, and giving back to the community 🏃‍♀️🌈

The event raised crucial funds for the community, and we added an important layer by sharing education on Gender-Based Violence and Femicide (GBVF) 🌟💪

What is a dunwalk without medals‼️‼️
A huge congratulations to our medal winners from our Selina-Jo FSO team;

Our Director and social worker delivered a powerful message on GBVF, emphasizing the importance of respect, consent, and support 🌈💕 and giving insights on how to report identify violence or abuse and knowing how to report and protect oneself from it. The participants engaged in the information delivered and gave a few words to emphasize the importance of knowing how to stop and prevent GBVF.

What a wonderful event! 🌟 So refreshing, uplifting, and impactful. We're proud to be part of initiatives that make a difference! 💚

On Friday, Ladybrand Townhall was transformed into a hub of empowerment and solidarity as the Department of Social Development, in collaboration with Selina Jo Fso the Mantsopa Local Municipality and key stakeholders, hosted a Women's Month celebration that raised awareness about Gender-Based Violence and inspired a sense of hope. Our DSD Chief Executive Mrs. Nondabula Fezeka emphasized the purpose of the celebration: to foster discussions around violence against women and highlight the collaborative efforts to combat this social ill. The event was a powerful platform for dialogue, education, and remembrance, with a candlelight vigil that poignantly honored the lives lost to GBVF led by different churches to mention a few NGKA, Apostolic Church, St. John, Assemblies of God and others. The Speakers highlighted the emotional toll of GBVF on children and the importance of continued advocacy and support for victims and survivors of GBVF. The event underscored the collective responsibility of the community to stand against GBVF and support victims in their journey toward healing and justice. Pastor Matshenodi Tshenodi from the Assemblies of God church blessed us with a powerful word quoting scriptures one of them Exodus 1:6-10 that we are a powerful nation and strong nation that we can overcome any challenge that come our way as long as we stick together and focus on what is really the problem and not overlook things.

A way forward was given by Mrs Prudence brought us to light that a group of Victim Empowerment Forum should be formed soonest to fight crime and violence, where we will engage directly with our stakeholders and the community to ensure that this pandemic of GBVF becomes a history in the benefit of our community, victims, and survivors of GBVF, and break free from this pandemic.

We are really honored and thankful to our esteemed funders DSD for trusting us to organize and oversee that this event becomes a success, Ladybrand, and Mantsopa as a whole will never be the same again💯

We thank for pads donation on Mandela Day, and The Masiu Family for the donation of clothes and hoes in support of Mandela day. We will be at Ext 9 together with Vumani OC in support of 67minutes of Mandela Day and Mantsopa Local Municipality at Itumeleng Hall distributing pads in out. And Ikaheng Disability Centre for prayer session with NGKA Ladybrand. 67minutesofMandelaDay.
