Lady Frere sport Legends was born in 28 December 2016 as organization which seeks to drive the development of sport, talent identification, recognizing of our fallen and living legends in Emalahleni Municipality and the entire province (Eastern Cape). The Lady Frere Sports Legends (LFSL) ensures that the youth of Emalahleni are capacitated beyond the play fields through educational, health and proper guidance initiatives. The practical exercise will ensure the Legends will be healthy as wellbeing equipped with related coaching courses. The Lady Frere Sports Legends always embark on an annual and gala dinner in collaboration with the Umzansi Legends, based in England, under the leadership of Sisa Mbekeni, where we honour the legends who contributed in sport, recreation and development in Emalahleni District, where we normally invite prominent leaders (Chief Ngangomhlaba Mathanzima, PSL CEO Lux September, SAFA referees Qongqo, Thando Ndzandzaka, and Dr Baartman from England) to come and deliver messages of support. In January 2018 we have adopted Nobuhle J.S.S one of the rural schools of Emalahleni Municipality and donated school uniform learners and bought a netball kit, netball balls, soccer balls, athletics equipment for the school.
2018 and 2019 we have hosted Ajax Cape Town scouts (The former Bafana Bafana 1996 player David Nyathi) at the Sisa Mbekeni under 15 Schools soccer tournament who have identified six (6) boys from age 15 years to play for Ajax Cape Town development. In 2018 we started a Grade 12's motivational talks, initially started with 4 schools, roped in professional expects in various discipline and giving away writing utensils to learners. In 2019 Twenty-five (25) selected soccer players by Ajax Cape Town were invited to come and play an under 15 tournament in Cape Town through the support of Emalahleni municipality with resources.
2020 we initiated a School's soccer league which attracted 45 schools around our local municipality sponsored by Mr. Matoti and named it Cecil Mfundo.
