On World Storytelling Day, the YB Foundation proudly celebrates Siphosethu Zazela ( ), a South African author, researcher, and legal professional whose work exemplifies the transformative power of storytelling.

Siphosethu’s contribution to the 2024 anthology In Other Stories has been recognized as a standout, reflecting his ability to engage deeply with complex and nuanced human experiences. His work in children’s literature, particularly through Banzi’s Busy Bees (in collaboration with ), demonstrates his commitment to early childhood development and environmental awareness.

Through this gentle and impactful story, young readers are introduced to themes of patience, care for the natural world, and the importance of intergenerational relationships, values that align closely with our mission at the YB Foundation.

In addition to his literary work, Siphosethu brings a strong research background, engaging with critical issues such as social inequality and land reform. His multidimensional career highlights how storytelling can intersect with advocacy, education, and social impact.

In a country where many children still face challenges with reading for meaning, limited access to books, and under-resourced schools, Amavo Amahle exists to bridge that gap. Because literacy is not just about words, it is about dignity, confidence, and the power to shape one’s future.

Through storytelling, access to reading materials, and community-driven learning spaces, we are raising a generation that is not only educated, but empowered.

The WB Unity Cup is a one-day community football tournament hosted by the under the Active Youth Movement. It brings rural youth together through sport to promote unity, positive engagement, leadership, and hope, creating safe spaces where young people connect, compete, and grow beyond the field.
