Dr Jason Ross speaks in Session 3: The kink of therapy and the therapy of kink — Critical reflections on methodology.

A counselling psychologist of more than twenty years in Cape Town, Jason started out specialising in sexual health and has since turned philosophical, completing a PhD in Philosophy and Psychoanalysis and developing his own contemplative, existential method. He has an open disdain for diagnostic thinking, and treats therapy less as fixing people than as slowing down and thinking honestly together about how we came to be where we are.

That scepticism about method is what this talk turns on: what kink has to teach therapy, and what therapy so often gets wrong when it meets it.
