Many of the medications found in our homes every day can be extremely dangerous to pets.

Examples include:
❌ Pain medication
❌ Cold and flu remedies
❌ Certain anti-inflammatory medications
❌ Some antidepressants
❌ Certain sleep aids

What may seem like a harmless tablet can quickly become a medical emergency.

Possible consequences include:
❌ Liver failure
❌ Kidney failure
❌ Internal bleeding
❌ Seizures
❌ Death

Never use another pet's medication. Never use leftover medication. Never assume a smaller dose makes it safe. Always consult a veterinarian first.

🐾 HUMAN MEDICATION & PETS PART 3: Tick & Flea Treatments Can Be Dangerous Too ⚠️

When fleas or ticks become a problem, some people start looking for the cheapest or quickest solution.

We have seen people use:
❌ Household insecticides
❌ Agricultural pesticides
❌ Motor oil
❌ Paraffin
❌ Disinfectants
❌ Homemade mixtures found online
❌ Washing powder

These products were NEVER designed to be used on dogs or cats.What people think is helping can actually cause:
❌ Chemical burns
❌ Poisoning
❌ Seizures
❌ Organ damage
❌ Death

Even products made specifically for animals can be dangerous if used incorrectly. Some products made for dogs can be highly toxic to cats.

Tick and flea treatment should always be:
✔️ Veterinary approved
✔️ Suitable for the species
✔️ Suitable for the pet's age and weight
✔️ Used according to instructions

Your pet should never become the test subject for a home remedy.

When a pet becomes sick, many owners start looking for quick fixes online or advice from friends and family. Unfortunately, not every home remedy is safe.

We have seen people use:
❌ Human medications
❌ Essential oils
❌ Herbal remedies
❌ Household products
❌ Remedies found on social media

What works for one pet may seriously harm another. A pet's age, weight, breed, medical history, and underlying health conditions all matter. Just because a remedy is "natural" does not mean it is safe.

Before giving your pet anything that has not been prescribed or approved by a veterinarian, stop and ask- "Could this do more harm than good?" The answer is usually that it will do more harm.

Our hearts are very saddend by the loss of our beloved Timoné💔
This brave little man tried his utmost just to be a happy little guy. With a severe heart defect, the odds for a long healthy life were stacked against him. Daily heart medication, special care and loads of love, we had to say goodbye to him this afternoon😭
Timoné, you are free from your pain and exhaustion. Now you can run amongst the angels without having to go sit because you can’t anymore. Our hearts are broken but you will never be forgotten🌈🐾💔😭

🐾 HUMAN MEDICATION & PETS PART 1: “But It's Safe For Humans” 💊

One of the biggest mistakes pet owners make is assuming that if a medication is safe for people, it must also be safe for dogs and cats.

THIS IS NOT TRUE!

Animals process medications very differently to humans.

A medication that helps a person may:
❌ Make a pet seriously ill
❌ Cause organ damage
❌ Lead to poisoning
❌ Even be fatal

And it's not just tablets.

People often use:
✔️ Eye drops
✔️ Pain medication
✔️ Cold and flu remedies
✔️ Stomach medication
✔️ Skin creams
✔️ Household products

Without veterinary advice. Never assume a medication is safe simply because it helped you or another pet. If your veterinarian has not approved it, do not give it.

Our Paisley found her fur-ever home.
After spending most of her puppyhood with us, Paisley went home with her new family Saturday, June 6.
Thank you Lee-Ann and Eric. We are so grateful to you for giving this precious girl a wonderful and loving home.
We know she is going to live the awesome life she deserves.
