Another successful collaboration between an NGO, community- Kommetjie Residents and Ratepayers Association, Property Developer and City of Cape Town led to a safer intersection for walkers and cyclists. Most people STOP, or slow down dramatically, leading to speeds being lower and safer at the intersection. Other, like the Checkers Sixty60 driver in the video, unfortunately do not obey the rules of the road. This Global Alliance of NGOs for Road Safety and campaign is funded by TotalEnergies. Chassie. Mum and our families hearts bleed. You would have been 44 today. Forever 23. What a man you would have been. What a musician. What a husband and father. What a son. What a loss caused by an irresponsible, selfish drink driver.

SADD support Min Creecy 100% about making the BAC Zero. We have too many casualties from DUI, too may families shattered, and too many people still think it is OK to drink then drive. Many people do not know what the legal limit is, what a unit comes to, and elimination rates of alcohol. ZERO MEANS ZERO. Clear and non-negotiable. Department of Transport"Transport Minister Barbara Creecy has announced that the government plans to lower South Africa’s drunk driving limit to zero.....She highlighted that this would introduce a clear and unambiguous policy, allowing no alcohol consumption while driving.
“The time has come for us to amend the law, so that we have a clear-cut, easy-to-understand, and unambiguous policy that says drinking and driving are not allowed,” she said.
“If nothing else, we owe this to the memory of the many fellow South Africans who have lost their lives on the roads.” ArriveAlive.co.za Road Traffic Management Corporation SADC Alliance of NGO's for Road Safety Global Alliance of NGOs for Road Safety Global Road Safety Partnership
