Options Care Centre Knysna What do we do?

Options Care Centre, as part of the Youth for Christ Knysna ministry, creates a safe space where men and women facing crises make informed and personal decisions. Counselling of pregnant mothers, rape victims, abused and HIV positive woman

Creating Awareness through local clinics that a support structure exists in Knysna

Offer support groups for pregnant and/or single moms and teenagers

Basic c

ounselling training for those wishing to volunteer and assist YFC’s counselling team

Sexual Integrity courses for teens

Various preventative talks at schools

Family Matters’ Programme, in partnership with the Department of Social Development. This is all about the caring and supporting of families in the broader Knysna community A hundred family per year are targeted and this involves home visits, parenting workshops, fatherhood workshops, recreational activities for the children – all to strengthen and improve family ties where any form of dysfunction exists

We had a wonderful conversation about relationships, growing up, and the feelings that often come with it. ❤️
We spoke about crushes and attraction, reminding our boys and girls that these feelings are completely normal and part of growing up. Together we reflected on the importance of focusing on themselves, their friendships, their faith, and their schoolwork during this season of life.
One of the biggest takeaways was that a boyfriend or girlfriend won't fill every longing in our hearts. There is so much value in enjoying your youth, growing into the person God created you to be, and trusting that there will be a right time for everything.
We're so proud of the honesty, maturity, and openness our young people showed during this discussion. 🌱✨

We had a wonderful session with the kids discussing the importance of healthy relationships. It was so encouraging to see them open up, share their thoughts, and ask meaningful questions. Through fun conversations and activities, we explored how kindness, respect, trust, and communication help us build strong relationships with our friends, family, and those around us.✨️❤️‍🩹😇

A little glimpse into our hospital visits 💕

Spending time with the moms and their beautiful babies is always such a blessing. The smiles, conversations, and precious moments shared remind us how special these visits truly are.

We also had so much fun painting crosses together – a simple activity filled with creativity, laughter, and hope. ✝️🎨

Thankful for every moment spent encouraging, connecting, and sharing God's love with these incredible families. ❤️

We spoke about how self-discipline is like a muscle — the more you practice it daily, the stronger it becomes. Growth does not happen overnight, but through consistent choices, perseverance, and learning to control our actions, attitudes, and responses. We had a meaningful and impactful session with the boys, focusing on the importance of relationships in our everyday lives. We spoke about how relationships shape who we are, influence our choices, and play a vital role in our growth and well-being. The discussion also highlighted practical ways to build and maintain healthy relationships—through respect, honesty, communication, and accountability. Most importantly, we emphasized that the foundation of all relationships begins with a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ, who guides, strengthens, and teaches us how to love others well.🙌🤩❤️‍🩹
