Unity Lodge no 2181 EC is proud to have held a charity lucky draw in aid of Knysna Animal Welfare Society, the South African Sea Cadet Corps- TS Knysna and the Masonic Benevolent Fund. The prize, which was drawn on 23 December 2025, was an incredible Springbok jersey signed by the entire 2023 finalist team, along with a letter of authenticity signed by Rassie Erasmus himself! The prize was generously donated by Mr Russel Belter, owner of Eden Honey Distillery and official cinematographer to the Bokke. Here our brethren are handing over R6400.00 to Knysna Animal Welfare Society.
"May every Brother have a heart to feel and a hand to give."

Imagine a sun-drenched yard in Roman Algeria, two millennia ago. A worker presses his hand into a soft, wet clay brick, leaving a permanent signature before it’s fired. This isn't a deliberate act of art, but a fleeting moment of contact, a pause in a long day's labor.

Today, that brick from Cherchell offers a breathtakingly intimate connection to the past. The imprint is large, suggesting a man of considerable stature. But the true marvel lies in the minute details preserved in the clay: the unique whorls of his fingerprints and the subtle textures of his skin are perfectly captured.

This accidental artifact is more than just a building material; it’s a tangible, human touch from the ancient world, forever frozen in time.
