Cuttings For Hope

Cuttings For Hope The ecological devastation of moved Cuttings For Hope to initiate a project to propagate & plant 5000 trees on the Garden Route.

From branch to root; from garden to Eden. After the in June 2017, the mass destruction of 180 square kilometres of wild and peopled lands has many in Knysna and surrounds starting from scratch. As we sift the ashes to regenerate and regrow, key resources are limited. Time, expertise and cash are typically channelled into rebuilding homes, lives and businesses before they go into the g

arden (of Eden!). As a result, habitat and environment are often the last on the To Do list, and yet propagation and planting can be so easy! Especially in groups. When it comes to "how?", our growing community turns to nature for the answer. The unprecedented environmental devastation has driven Cuttings For Hope to propagate and plant a minimum of 50 000 trees in the greater Garden Route area to help stem the aggressive regrowth of invasive alien plants and encourage healthier biomes and biodiversity in our beloved Eden district. Schools across South Africa are invited to participate in sourcing, planting and rearing plants and trees from cuttings (primarily), seedlings and seeds. Eco-friendly planting festivals (“plant parties”) will integrate education, immersion and fundraising to further the cause of helping to re-green the Garden Route. We need more Garden Route Guardians to do this. Join us?
