Knysna Sedgefield Hospice delivers 5 star accredited, home based care to those with life threatening illnesses. This care is provided free of charge to all who meet our admission criteria, regardless of age, race, creed or gender. We rely solely on the generosity of donors to allow us to continue to provide this quality care and support to our local community.

Real strength is taking your health seriously.
Men are often taught to push through pain, stay quiet, and keep going. But looking after your health is not weakness. It’s responsibility.
This Men’s Health Month, the APCC encourages men and boys to take their health seriously: to ask questions, seek support, and not wait until things become critical.
Across South Africa, APCC members provide compassionate palliative care to men facing serious illness, offering pain management, emotional support, home-based care, and dignity throughout every stage of the journey.
No one should have to face illness alone.

National Cancer Survivors Day is not only about survival. It’s about the lives rebuilt between treatments, the quiet courage behind closed doors, and the people who continue showing up. Even on the hardest days. Behind every survivor is a network of support: families, caregivers, healthcare professionals, and organisations working to ensure that no one faces cancer alone.
At the APCC, we recognise that cancer care does not end with treatment. Through compassionate palliative care, our members help patients live with greater comfort, dignity, and support, improving quality of life at every stage of the journey.
Today, we also recognise the important role played by CANSA The Cancer Association of South Africa , whose work spans cancer education, screening awareness, patient care and support services, counselling, medical equipment hire, survivor programmes, and advocacy for improved access to cancer care across South Africa.
Together, we continue advocating for care that sees the whole person. Not only the diagnosis.

40 Years of Kindness | Looking Back with Gratitude
As we celebrate our 40th year of caring for the Knysna, Sedgefield & Wilderness communities, we have taken a moment to reflect on some of the memorable moments, defining achievements, and milestones from our first 25 years.
Like the first nurses cell phone in 1993😀, which changed communication with our patients.
These achievements were made possible by the dedication of our staff, volunteers, donors, supporters, and community partners who believed in the importance of compassionate palliative care.

Here's to celebrating our past, honouring our present, and continuing our mission of care for many years to come.
