Who we are and why we started Growing Upwards

Empathy for people who are unable to access nutritious meals daily motivated a group of Knysna women to start this initiative in September 2020. We have completed two projects to date - the first by establishing a full garden at the Learning Tree in Khaylethu South on Heritage Day. The second complete securing and re seeding for a food garden that contributes to the Brackenhill Soup Kitchen (feeding around 100 people twice a week) took place on Friday 16th October. Project number three - a large food garden installation - will take place at Humpty Dumpty on Friday 31st October .
