Calling all Kleinmond Business Owners!
๐ข Showcase your brand while supporting a crucial local cause at the Kleinmond Conservation Society's upcoming fundraising golf day on 11 June 2026.
๐ฟ Help the Kleinmond Conservation Society conserve this area's natural assets. Kleinmondโs environment isnโt just something we enjoy, itโs something we all depend on. It is a shared responsibility and benefit to conserve it.
Not only is it beautiful and renowned, attracting visitors, residents, and business to the area, but our unique fynbos ecosystem supports local water security, biodiversity, and fire resilience. Invasive alien vegetation can put all of this at risk.
The good news!
The Kleinmond Conservation Society has been combating the threat posed by alien vegetation since 1978, when the town was overrun by invasive species. Since January 2024, the hacking team has cleared over 85,000 individual plants of this kind. Kleinmond would be a different place today if not for this ongoing effort.
But there are thousands of troublesome plants still to be cleared, with more popping up all the time.
โณ The Society needs your support to continue and expand on this important work and make the best success of the fundraising golf day at Arabella on 11 June 2026. The proceeds from the event are vital to sustaining the hacking teamโs activities.
To show your support, you can:
๐ Donate hamper items. These are awarded to teams at the golf day. Sets of 4 non-perishable items are ideal (but not essential), as the hampers are shared by winning 4-ball alliances. E.g. bottles of wine, baked goods, keyrings.
๐ Donate a prize. These are awarded to individual players at the golf day. E.g. practical accessories, gift cards, gourmet goods, gadgets, branded items.
Any and all items are accepted for hampers or as prizes! Please think of the Conservation Society when youโre shopping, and if you own a business or a product, or if you deal with large suppliers, can you offer any branded merchandise or samples?
๐ Donate an auction item. The golf day concludes with an auction, which can really boost the funds raised on the day. They are looking for items valued at over R500. E.g. experiences, accommodation, spa treatments, art, luxury goods.
๐ Sponsor a tee box. A contribution of R1,000 gives you exclusive marketing opportunities at a specific tee box area on the golf day. On average, players spend around 4 minutes at a tee, allowing you a great marketing opportunity with potential for high-impact engagement and meaningful brand visibility.
๐ Book a 4-ball alliance. Limited spots are still available, if you or your company would like to participate as golfers. Contact Christine Whitehead (082 405 5032) for details and bookings.
๐ Adopt a conservation zone. The hacking team works within 21 conservation zones in Kleinmond, on a rotation basis, to ensure that all areas get regular attention. A contribution of R6,000 makes you the financial custodian of one of these blocks for a year and an official conservation partner of the Kleinmond Nature Conservation Society (including a certificate of environmental contribution).
๐ Donate cash. The Kleinmond Nature Conservation Society is a registered NPO. You can donate directly on their website. Absolutely any amount is welcome.
๐ Become a Kleinmond Nature Conservation Society member, join them for one of their monthly plant hacks, or get involved in their other conservation activities (contact [email protected]).
