Meet the Council - Hein Joubert (Clubhouse - 2026/2027)

Hein is a Mechanical Engineer and owner of Katbatt, where solving problems is all part of the day's work. When he's not engineering solutions, you'll find him enjoying his hobbies of flying radio-controlled aircraft, water skiing, and building model projects that would make most people's patience run out long before the glue dries.

Fun fact: can fix almost anything... but his greatest achievement may be being widely regarded as the best braaier at Kirkwood 78!Whether it's engineering, model building, or perfectly cooked steaks, precision is always part of the process.

Currently single, Hein joined Round Table Kirkwood 78 in November 2023 and has been making his mark ever since.

Here's to the man who keeps things flying, floating, running, and braaing!

Happy Father's Day from Round Table Kirkwood 78.

Today we celebrate the fathers, grandfathers, father figures, and mentors who lead by example, support their families, and help shape the next generation.

Being a father is about more than providing — it's about teaching values, showing strength through kindness, and being present through life's challenges and triumphs. The impact of a good father extends far beyond his own family and helps build stronger communities for all.

To all the dads within our Round Table family and throughout our community, thank you for your dedication, sacrifice, and unwavering support.

We wish you a wonderful Father's Day filled with family, laughter, and special memories.

Youth Day reminds us that the leaders of tomorrow are being shaped today. As Round Table Kirkwood 78, we are committed to making a positive impact in our community by creating opportunities, supporting those in need, and inspiring the next generation to dream bigger and achieve more.

Meet The Council - Edwin Ferreira better known as Eddie. (Kirkwood 78 - Treasurer 2026/2027)

An organic chicken and citrus farmer by trade, Eddie spends his days looking after thousands of chickens and making sure the farm keeps running smoothly.

Before marriage, his hobbies included spending hours playing video games. Nowadays, those gaming skills have been replaced with husband duties, dad duties, and chasing chickens around the farm!

Eddie is married to his beautiful wife, Kelly-Jaye Ferreira, and together they have a son, Graham —better known as "Grahamstown" — who keeps him on his toes and ensures there is never a dull moment.

Inducted in January 2025, Eddie has quickly become part of the Round Table family, bringing plenty of laughs, hard work, and farm wisdom along the way.

If you ever need advice on chickens, organic farming, or surviving life after marriage, Farmer Eddie is your man.

Welcome, Eddie! Here's to many great memories, friendships, and adventures ahead.

Meet the Council - Jacques Ehlers also known as Jaqi — although back at university, everyone knew him as “Hemis” (Kirkwood 78 - Secretary 2026/2027)

By trade he’s a citrus farmer, but at heart he’s an outdoorsman through and through. Hunting, fishing, 4x4 adventures, and spending quality time with friends are right up his alley. Before kids arrived, mountain biking and spearfishing filled most weekends… now it’s more about babysitting duties and mastering the art of changing nappies!

Fun fact: he once backpacked a large part of the Transkei completely on foot.

Jaqi is married to his amazing wife, Petro, and together they have two adorable little troublemakers, Louis and Milla-Mari.

He was inducted on 16 August 2025 at the 2nd ASSCO, and what made it even more special was being inducted by the RTSA President, Vos Botha.

From backpacking through the Transkei to chasing kids around the house — life definitely keeps him on his toes!

Meet the Council- Carlo Botes, also known as Carli B
(Kirkwood 78 – Vice Chairman 2026/2027)

I joined Round Table in 2020 and have thoroughly enjoyed the journey ever since.

I have a great passion for farming and am proud to be both a citrus farmer and Boerbok farmer. I am also the owner of Annerkant Venue, where I truly enjoy hosting people and creating memorable experiences for others to enjoy.

In my free time, I enjoy hunting and taking part in enduro bike races. I also love spending time around the braai with friends, socialising, and enjoying a few cold ones around a proper braaivleis vuurtjie.

I am happily married to my beautiful wife, Jana Botes, and together we have our perfect newborn princess, Lana Botes. These two girls are my whole world, and I simply cannot imagine life without them.

I am a true Round Tabler — "Ek tafel kliphard." Round Table is something I am deeply passionate about, and I have big dreams and goals for what I still want to achieve within the organisation. The friendships, brotherhood, and opportunities to serve make it truly special to me.

Be there for your family, be there for your friends, and most importantly — BE THERE FOR YOUR TABLE!!
