A conviction isn’t a feeling. It’s a decision you already made. ☝🏼

Daniel didn’t refuse the king’s food in the moment, he’d already decided before he ever saw the table. That’s what separates a conviction from a preference. Preferences shift with pressure, mood, and convenience. Convictions don’t move, because they were settled before the test arrived.

Most of us don’t lack conviction. We just never actually decide, we wait until we’re standing in the moment, hoping we’ll feel strong enough to choose right. We won’t. Strength isn’t found in the moment. It’s found in the decision you made before it.

What conviction do you keep meaning to settle, but haven’t yet?
