🐾 SPCA Dog Walk at KEC 🐾

Put a wag in your walk and raise funds for animals in need! Join us for a fun-filled morning at the Kimberley Equestrian Centre in aid of the Kimberley SPCA / DBV

📍 Venue: Kimberley Equestrian Centre (KEC), Samaria Road, Kimberley
🎟️ Entry Fee: R50 per person (Tickets sold at KEC on the day)

* Choose between the Short Route (~3.2 km) or Long Route (~4.2 km)

❄️Snow and icy conditions expected across the country ❄️

⏰9-11 August 2026
📍Across South Africa

South Africa is set to see a sharp drop in temperatures across most of the country early next week, with snow and rain in certain areas.

Heavy snowfall is expected in the Eastern Cape highlands, Lesotho, and the southern Free State, with snow also in the Western Cape, Northern Cape, and southern Drakensburg.

How can you keep your animals safe and warm?

🏡Make sure animals have sufficient, warm shelter.
🐄Provide extra bedding to farm animals.
🐕Bring domestic pets like cats and dogs indoors.
💧Make sure animals have access to freshwater that is not iced over.
🐎For outdoors animals, give them waterproof shelter that is raised off the ground and dry bedding.
🐖Provide farm animals with dry feed and keep their shelters free from mud.

If you see an animal chained or left out in the cold, with no access to shelter, please report it to your nearest SPCA, or call us at 011 907 3590.
