Green Development Foundation GDF was founded in 2010 by a group of young people who are passionate about greening and revitalising the environment in South Africa.

Green Development Foundation (GDF) is a registered NPO No: 2015/316220/08 under South African law and in full compliance with the Non- Profit Organisations Act, 1997 ( Act no. 71 of 1997). GDF was founded by youths who share a passion for Greening and Socio-economic development in

impoverished communities. GDF’s main focus is to conserve the environment and create sustainable livelihoods. The organisation developed a patented mascot concept called Buti Green - a National Greening Champion that encourage communities, especially children and youth to participate meaningfully in greening initiatives.
