Villa Lethemba

Villa Lethemba 2 Blignault Street, Van Riebeeck Park, Kemtpon Park, Johannesburg We currently have 11 boys and girls living here, who have long-term care needs.

Villa Lethemba is one of the Special Needs Home in the AFM Welfare system that focusses on providing long-term and palliative care to children affected/infected with HIV Aids (who are unwell), suffer from life-threatening medical conditions, have Cerebral Palsy, hydroencephaly or similar conditions which affect their ability to function as "normal".This home is specially equipped to deal with the

24 hour care of children who cannot function on their own - sometimes including children on full-time oxygen or with feeding tubes. The staff are specially trained to deal with advanced medical conditions, and the centre manager has many years experience in looking after these special children.With the collaboration of sponsors and the local AFM church, this project has been looking after special kiddies for the last ten years. We have lost a few of the precious lives, and have seen a few graduate to families of their own - beating the odds against their terrible prognoses and proving all the doctors wrong! This home is also being renovated to create more space for our growing children, who -despite having bad medical conditions - still grow tall and heavy. Please pop in and meet our staff and children - your life will never be the same again.

Hi Everyone.

I trust you are well.

It is with great Sadness that we anounce the Passing of, Sophy, that has been working at Villa Le Themba. We sent our deepest condolences to her Family and Friends, May she rest in Peace!

Over and Above Shopy's Passing, We need all the help we can get at Villa Le Themba. The Subsidies are running very late for payment, and we are diving into a difficult time until we do recieve funding.

I, aswell as the whole Villa Le Themba Commity, and our children needs you!

We are urgently looking for sponsors on the following Items to keep us going:

Food Items
Meats
Cornflakes
Milk Powder
Milk
Sugar
Bread
Spreads - Margarine, Peanutbutte and Jam
Petrol for the Car
Electricity for the next 2 weeks
Any other food donations are welcome.
