Dear community,

We are reaching out to you during this time with an urgent appeal

Môrester Child and Youth Care Centre is currently facing a crisis. Our house mother was recently injured and had to undergo surgery. We are grateful that the operation was successful, and she is now recovering at the centre. However, her laptop is old and no longer functioning properly, which makes it difficult for her to carry out essential tasks such as uploading documents and communicating via email. We are kindly asking for a donation of a laptop even a good second-hand one to assist her during this time.

In addition, we are experiencing a shortage of necessities. We are currently in urgent need of electricity, bath soap, washing powder, bread, margarine and spreads, oats, instant porridge, meat, potatoes, and diapers (size 5 or suitable for children up to 24 kg).

Any contribution, no matter how small, will go a long way in helping us meet the needs of the children in our care. Your support and generosity are deeply appreciated.

Earlier today we had a meaningful and productive clean-up at Morester Children’s home, made possible by the support of our amazing well wishers.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who took the time and effort to be part of this initiative. Your willingness to show up, lend a hand and contribute to a cleaner and more welcoming environment for the children truly means a lot.

This is not a once-off activity, but part of an ongoing effort to maintain and improve the space for the children in our care. If you would like to be part of future clean-ups, we would love to have you join us. We will be sharing details of the next date soon.

We are reaching out to kindly ask for your support. We need to raise R1,900 to re-submit our house plans to the municipality in order to fully comply with the municipal rules and regulations

Following recent inspections, we were required to make certain changes to the existing structure. These adjustments are necessary to ensure that the property remains compliant and approved for continued use in serving the children in our care.
