TRIBUTE TO THATO MOLOSANKWE
By Jabulane Hope Thabethe, Executive Director – Hope For Africa Foundation

Today, I pay tribute to a man whose spirit carried the weight of truth, justice, and the people of North West (Mahikeng) — Thato Molosankwe.

I remember in 2018 after my interview on Newzroom Afrika, I received a call from Thato. He said to me, “Young man, you are doing great. Do you want to walk to Cape Town?” That moment was bigger than an invitation; it was a passing of courage, belief, and purpose. It was a reminder that the journey of changing society belongs to those willing to walk difficult roads for the sake of others.

As time went on, I grew to admire and respect his fearless spirit. Thato was not a man who remained silent in the face of injustice. He stood boldly against corruption, challenged systems that failed ordinary people, and fought passionately for the people of Mahikeng . He carried the pain of the people as if it was his own and transformed that pain into action.

Activists like Thato are rare. They do not simply speak for change; they become change itself. They become the voice of the unheard, the courage of the fearful, and the hope of communities searching for justice.

Today, Africa has not merely lost a man — we have lost a movement, a fearless voice, and a heart committed to justice and dignity. Yet men like Thato never truly leave us. Their footsteps remain on the roads they walked, their words echo in the hearts they touched, and their spirit lives on in every young person who chooses courage over comfort.

On behalf of Hope For Africa Foundation and myself personally, I salute your life, your sacrifices, your activism, and your unwavering commitment to the people.

May your legacy continue to inspire generations of leaders, activists, and dreamers across Africa.
