The Harry Potter films are Christmas telly favourites – but did you know there’s a masonic link to the Deathly Hallows stretching back 40 years...?
It’s day #18 of our advent calendar and we're sharing this recent news story: during a recent BBC documentary, J.K. Rowling told of how she believes the symbol of the Deathly Hallows (pictured top panel) may have been inspired by watching The Man Who Would Be King 40 years ago – the night she found out her mother had died.
“The masonic symbol is very important in that movie,” she said.
“I’ve got a feeling that on some deep subconscious level, they are connected.”
The film, starring Sean Connery and Michael Caine, was adapted from a Rudyard Kipling novella, himself a noted Freemason.
