Rambam Charitable Trust

Rambam Charitable Trust The Rambam Charitable Trust offers interest free loans to the South African Jewish community. Over R100m given as loans since 1995!

The aim of the Rambam Charitable Trust is to assist members of the South African Jewish community who require financial assistance. This assistance is provided in the form of interest free loans. Established in 1995, the trust has granted loans to members of the South African Jewish community & institutions amounting to over R100m. The trust has also grown from 5 original trustees to 27 trustees,

all of whom are either dedicated businessmen or professionals. Interest free loans are granted with the intention of uplifting the recipient and special care is taken to minimise any burden. All borrowers are interviewed by the trustees in order to ensure that there is a genuine need and an ability to repay. In order to preserve the capital of the trust, every loan requires the commitment of a surety(ies) who will cover the payment of the debt should the borrower default. Loans granted cater for needs such as day to day living expenses, vehicle repairs, school fees, university fees, simchas, credit card payments, medical expenses, rent, etc. Applications for loans are accepted from all over South Africa. Donations to the trust are tax deductible and an 18A receipt can be issued.
