Climate change is not only an environmental crisis. It is a child rights crisis. It affects education, nutrition, health, and opportunity. It forces families to make impossible choices, and too often, children's dreams are the first casualty.

hashtag 's who dreams of becoming a nurse, represents millions of children whose futures depend on the decisions we make today in boardrooms, parliaments, development agencies, and communities around the world.

As we confront the growing impacts of climate change, we must invest in resilience, adaptation, food security, and the protection of children.

Because every child deserves the chance to pursue their dreams.

Patience's future is worth fighting for. And so are the futures of millions more.

Communities don't wait for permission to protect their futures.

Today, families across our region are cleaning up rivers, planting trees, and holding dialogues about the world they want for their children β€” not as a performance, but as a conviction.

As we draw closer to , which falls on June 5, we amplify their voices. Because land restoration gives children a future β€” and communities already know how to lead the way. πŸ™Œ

As the Democratic Republic of Congo faces a growing Ebola outbreak, World Vision DRC East Zonal Director David Munkley spoke to Al Jazeera English about the urgent challenges communities and responders are facing on the ground.
Nearly 750 suspected cases and 177 suspected deaths have been recorded since the first known victim died in Bunia, Ituri Province, on 24 April. The outbreak is raising concern due to the emergence of a new strain and the significant limitations in funding for emergency response efforts.

In the interview, David highlighted the reality facing many frontline responders: overstretched health systems, limited resources, and vulnerable communities already dealing with conflict, displacement, and poverty.

"There is a climate of fear and uncertainty...and if we are unable to respond the spread of the virus goes further and this very high risk becomes very high across the region."

World Vision continues to work alongside communities, health authorities, and partners to support awareness raising, community engagement, child protection, and emergency response efforts.

At a time like this, global solidarity matters. Timely funding, accurate information, and coordinated action are critical to preventing further loss of life.

In 2025 alone:
βœ… 3.6 million people reached
βœ… 48,900 community health workers supported

In Angola, school feeding programmes are doing far more than providing meals β€” they are helping children learn, grow, and thrive.

For many children in vulnerable situations, a daily meal at school can be the difference between attending class or staying at home. It improves concentration, supports healthy development, and creates a more equal chance for every child to succeed.

Last week, World Vision teams welcomed a USDA delegation to Angola to see firsthand how the ANGEL programme goes beyond school meals β€” supporting education, strengthening local systems, and building long-term impact for communities.

Because when children are nourished, they are better equipped to learn and build their future.

Look at her go. πŸ“šπŸ§‘

She woke up before the sun.
She packed her bag.
She put on her uniform.
And she walked toward something bigger than today.

For millions of girls across the world, that walk to school is not guaranteed. It is fought for by families who sacrifice, communities who protect, and girls who refuse to give up on themselves.

"Life in all its fullness" that's what she's walking toward. Not just knowledge. Not just a certificate. But a future that is fully, completely, unapologetically hers.

Share this for the girl who is on her way. And for every girl who deserves to be. πŸ’›

Good morning, neighbour! β˜€οΈπŸ§‘

Happy Monday β€” and what a verse to start the week with.

Jesus was asked what the greatest commandment was. He gave two. And the second one?

"Love your neighbor as yourself." β€” Mark 12:31

Not love your neighbour when they're easy to love. Not love your neighbour when you feel like it. Love them the way you'd want to be loved β€” with patience, kindness, and grace.

So today, before the week gets busy:
🧑 Check on someone
🧑 Smile at a stranger
🧑 Be patient with a difficult person
🧑 Send that message you've been putting off

You never know whose Monday you might turn around just by showing up as love. πŸ’›

Happy Monday, friends! and have a great week ahead. Share this with a neighbour who needs it today. πŸŒ…

"Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these." β€” Mark 12:31

πŸ’§ A child stood before Africa's top child rights body and made governments listen.

At the 47th Session of the African Committee of Experts on the Rights and Welfare of the Child (ACERWC), held right here in Maseru, Lesotho, World Vision joined partners and children for a powerful conversation about WASH β€” Water, Sanitation and Hygiene.

Child representative Liekolo delivered recommendations directly to government delegates. Her voice is being cited by Committee Members. And that's exactly the point.

When we say children deserve clean water, we mean it. When we say children deserve a seat at the table, we prove it.
🌍 Together, we're advancing WASH as a child right not a privilege.
