🎶 A Night of Unforgettable Performances! 🎶

The Siyabakhumbula Awards 2025 stage came alive with powerful performances that moved hearts and celebrated legacies. ❤️

💃🏾 The Kangaroo Dancers left the audience in awe with their breathtaking traditional routines and acrobatics.
🎸 Oyaba Reggae Group from Welkom paid a soulful tribute to the late reggae icon Sipho “Jambo” Johnson.
🎤 Mrs Mapule Matlala, wife of the late Jacob “Baby Jake” Matlala, performed a heartfelt song in honour of her husband.
🎵 Mr Sello Malete gave a moving performance in tribute to his father, Sammy Malete — a true “like father, like son” moment.
🎤✨ The legendary Mr Mzwakhe Mbuli surprised guests with a powerful live performance that captivated the entire room — a true highlight of the evening!
🌈 And to close the night, the Grand Music Finale united all performers, crew, and guests in a beautiful celebration of legacy, art, and togetherness.

It was a night to remember — honouring our legends through music, movement, and heartfelt tributes. 🙌🏽

As we reflect on the unforgettable Siyabakhumbula Awards 2025, one of the most profound moments of the evening came from the KaNzimande family, who paid tribute to our founder, Mr. Mzwakhe Mbuli.

In a gesture rich with cultural meaning, they presented him with a male lion skin (Panthera leo)—a symbol of power, respect, and leadership. 🦁

This gift was given to honour him for celebrating and preserving the legacy of their beloved family member, Welcome “Bhodloza” Nzimande, and for his unwavering commitment to honouring those who paved the way for future generations.

The KaNzimande family reminded us of a beautiful principle: in their culture, one does not receive without giving back. Their act of gratitude reflects the spirit of the Siyabakhumbula Awards — honouring legacy, uplifting heritage, and strengthening the bond between those who give and those who remember. 🇿🇦

From the unstoppable force of Baby Jake Matlala in the boxing ring 🥊, to the legendary voice of Bhodloza Nzimande on radio 🎙️, from the dribbling wizardry of John “Shoes” Moshoeu ⚽, to the timeless sounds of Gloria Bosman, Thandi Klaasen, Dorothy Masuku, Vuyo Mokoena and Sammy Malete 🎶 — and many more — their footprints remain engraved in our nation’s story.
