We support and amplify young women’s feminist consciousness, voice, agency and activism to dismantle patriarchy, protect their rights and enable their self-determin

Advancing SRHR in Southern Africa together.

This week, Soul City Institute is proud to host the Southern Africa Investment Voucher Consortium Inception Meeting in Johannesburg, in partnership with IPPF.

We’ve brought together senior representatives from Member Associations and Collaborating Partners across the region to strengthen collaboration, share practical knowledge, and drive impactful youth SRHR programming.

Why this matters:

With modern contraceptive prevalence in Sub-Saharan Africa at just 23% (vs. 44% globally), the urgency has never been greater. Digital Health Innovation (DHI) offers a game-changing path forward especially where stigma and restrictive laws limit access to care.

Over the next three days, we’re focusing on what matters most:

Institutional strengthening

✅ Youth-centred SRHR programming

✅ Governance excellence

This is the first step in operationalising the IPPF 2023-2028 Strategy and global DHI Framework delivering person-centred, equitable, and accessible care across the region.

Young Voices. Real Conversations. Stronger Communities.

A powerful Youth Dialogue on GBV and HIV/AIDS was held at Low Wepener Combined School, bringing young people together to learn, speak up and engage on issues affecting their lives and communities.

In partnership with the Department of Education (DoE), Department of Health (DoH) and Department of Social Development (DSD), the dialogue created a safe space for young people to share their voices, ask questions and explore solutions. When young people are heard, communities become stronger.

Conversations That Matter: GBV & SRHR Dialogue

We held a B-Wise dialogue on Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) at Motheo TVET College in Botshabelo, in partnership with Higher Health.

The dialogue created a safe and engaging space for young people to ask questions, share experiences and access accurate information about their health, rights and wellbeing. Together, we are building informed, empowered young people who can make healthier choices and help create safer communities.

We hosted a powerful Youth Dialogue at Motheo TVET College in partnership with Free State Rainbowseeds and Higher Health.

The dialogue created a safe space for young people to engage, ask questions, share experiences and have meaningful conversations around GBV, SRHR, inclusion and youth wellbeing.

By creating spaces where young people can speak, listen and learn, we are supporting them to become informed and empowered voices in their communities.
