Youth Leading Change in Hillbrow

Learners from Hillbrow Primary School, through the Safe Handz Buddyz and Rise Together Soul Buddyz clubs, have taken a stand against bullying in their school.

After identifying bullying as a major challenge, the clubs planned and initiated an awareness campaign to educate fellow learners about its impact and promote kindness, respect and safe school spaces.

Young leaders. Safer schools. Stronger communities.

Rocket Buddies in Action | Babati Primary School, Justicia (Mpumalanga)

The Rocket Buddies from Babati Primary School are turning ideas into impact.

They’ve created a school garden to support vulnerable learners and grow fresh produce, which is also sold to the community to raise funds for their club activities.

The team also designed an educational poster to encourage their peers to eat healthy and make better nutrition choices.

“A healthier mind in a healthy body”

A powerful example of youth leadership, care and community upliftment in action.

Orange Farm Youth Day Outreach

Big conversations. Real support. Brighter futures.

Soul City was proud to join Regenesys Education at the Orange Farm Youth Day Outreach under the theme: "Know Your Rights, Protect Your Mind, Build Your Future recently

We connected with young people on mental health, healthy relationships, SRHR, ending GBV and knowing your rights.

Because when young people have the right info, they have the power to make moves for their future.

Youth Month Reflection

We are still celebrating Youth Month, and one of our FLAC Fellows shares a powerful reminder: she refuses to remain helpless in a world full of challenges.

That’s the spirit of a generation that chooses action, courage and change every day.

Youth Northern Day Commemoration

The Soul City Northern Cape team, in collaboration with Kutlwano Youth Centre, gathered at Cassel Village to celebrate 50 years of Youth Day under the theme: “The Future Calls.”

The session focused on rebuilding social cohesion and addressing key challenges affecting young people, including gender-based violence, substance abuse and mental health.

The aim was to remind young people that they have the power to overcome these challenges, take charge of their wellbeing, know their status, and access available support services from various organisations.

We were honoured to be joined by SAPS, Department of Transport, Safety and Liaison, VEP, Joe Morolong Municipality, and the Karabelo Project.

Together, we continue building informed, supported and empowered youth communities.
