What a pleasure it is to take a break and harvest handful loads of refreshing strawberries to enjoy in the middle of the heat.
Most definitely well deserved.

🌱 **ANOTHER HOME GARDEN IS GROWING!** 🌱

We’re excited to share an update from **Che’s home garden in Florida** β€” the setup is finally complete, and the first signs of new growth are already sprouting! πŸŒΏπŸ™ŒπŸ½

This garden journey was especially interesting because we got to **repurpose the kids’ old bunk beds and transform them into beautiful garden beds!** β™»οΈπŸŒ±

Even better, the kids got involved throughout the process, learning how to plant, water and care for their garden on a daily basis. πŸ‘¨β€πŸ‘©β€πŸ‘§β€πŸ‘¦β€οΈ

Now the family is all set to enjoy **fresh produce of their choice, grown right in their own backyard!** πŸ₯¬πŸ…πŸŒΆοΈ

This is what community farming is all about β€” taking what we have, finding creative solutions, learning together and turning our homes into productive spaces. 🌍🌱

A huge thank you to everyone who continues to help us spread the **Food For The Hood** family beyond Eldorado Park and into surrounding communities. πŸ’š

🌱 **FROM A GARDEN IN A BUCKET TO A GARDEN THAT GROWS A COMMUNITY!** 🌱

What an amazing transformation we get to witness at **Uncle Theo’s home garden in Noordgesig!** πŸ™ŒπŸ½πŸŒΏ

In a world where our elders are often overlooked and not always given the opportunities, support and dignity they deserve, it is truly inspiring to see what can happen when we come together and invest in one another. ❀️

Uncle Theo started his journey with a simple **Garden in a Bucket**, donated through the **Food For The Hood Community Farming Project**, and look at where he is today! 🌱πŸ”₯

He is not only growing food with us and developing his own home garden β€” he is now also **growing and selling seedlings within his community**, helping other residents take their first steps towards growing their own food and becoming more self-sustainable. 🌿🀝🏽

This is exactly what we mean when we say:

**It takes the hood to save the hood.** ❀️
**Grown in the hood, for the hood.** 🌱

And this is only the beginning!

πŸ“ **Are you in Noordgesig or the surrounding areas?**
If you've been thinking about starting your own home garden, now is the time!

🌱 **Seedlings available for only R5 each!**

Visit **Uncle Theo** to get your seedlings and start your own growing journey, or contact **Food For The Hood Community Farming Project** directly for assistance with getting your home garden started.

Let’s support local growers, support our elders, grow our own food and create communities that can sustain themselves. πŸ’š

**Support local. Grow local. Eat local. Build local.**

🌱 ANOTHER GARDEN IN A BUCKET β€” ANOTHER STEP TOWARDS SELF-SUSTAINABILITY! πŸͺ΄β€οΈ
Today we had the privilege of delivering another Garden in a Bucket to a hardworking father who is determined to improve his home garden and create something meaningful for himself and his family.
This Garden in a Bucket is more than just a collection of plants β€” it’s an opportunity to grow food, learn, improve, and become more self-sustainable. 🌱πŸ₯¬πŸ…
What makes this journey even more special is that he doesn't have to do it alone. From the moment that bucket arrives, he becomes part of the Food For The Hood family, with a dedicated team standing right behind him, ready to provide guidance, encouragement and support to help his garden thrive. 🀝🌿
We believe that when we put the right tools, knowledge and support into the hands of hardworking community members, the possibilities are endless.
A garden can provide food.
A garden can provide hope.
A garden can bring a family together.
And a community of gardens can help change an entire neighbourhood. 🌍❀️
A massive THANK YOU to Curtis and Food and Trees for Africa for helping us make these Garden in a Bucket initiatives possible. Your contribution is helping us put sustainable food production directly into the hands of our community, one household at a time. πŸ™πŸŒ±
This is what community looks like. This is what self-sustainability looks like. This is what happens when we farm together!
🌱 Join the Food For The Hood family.
🀝 Let’s grow together.
πŸ₯• Let’s feed our communities.
🌍 Let’s build a more self-sustainable future β€” one garden at a time.

🌱 **OUR FIRST HOME GARDEN CALL-OUT ALL THE WAY IN FLORIDA!** 🌱

This one is truly special to us! πŸ’š We received our first call-out for a home garden setup all the way in Florida, and what makes this journey even more exciting is that it has given us the opportunity to gift another **Garden in a Bucket** outside of Eldorado Park! πŸ™ŒπŸ½πŸŒ

Not only are we spreading the reach of Food For The Hood Community Farming Project, but we are also able to do a complete garden setup according to our client’s desires. Every garden we create helps us spread the footprint of **self-sustainable living**, food security, and eco-friendly practices within more communities.

A **maximum thank you to Curtis and Food and Trees for Africa** for these amazing Garden in a Bucket gifts! πŸŒ±πŸ™πŸ½ Your support is allowing us to do so much more than simply grow food. Together, we are growing a community of self-sustainable farmers, spreading awareness about food security, and inspiring people to take steps towards a greener and more sustainable future. πŸŒπŸ’š

**Stay tuned to see the results of this special call-out!** πŸ‘€πŸŒ±

🌿 **Join us as we grow together as a community in unity.**

**🌱 INTRODUCING ROOT & RISE – EXTENSION 7 🌱**
**Powered by Food For The Hood Community Farming Project**

Today, we proudly introduce a courageous young man who has decided to stop waiting and start doing. πŸ’ͺ🏽

Meet **Triveen**, a young community member who has taken it upon himself to tackle some of the serious challenges facing our community β€” illegal dumping, robberies, house break-ins and the growing problem of rodent infestation.

Instead of sitting back and waiting for government to solve every problem we face, Triveen has been inspired by the **Food For The Hood family** to recognise something powerful: **we, as a community, are also capable of creating change.**

With incredible passion, courage and dedication, he is stepping up to make a difference. And we are proud to stand fully behind him as he takes on this amazing venture that will further improve our community.

**Introducing ROOT & RISE in Extension 7! 🌱πŸ”₯**

This is what real community transformation looks like. Revolutionary changes are taking place in our community, and the youth are not standing on the sidelines β€” **they are becoming part of the movement!**

Let this be an inspiration to every young person: **You do not need to wait for permission to care. You do not need to wait for someone else to take the first step. If you see a problem, you can become part of the solution.**

Eldorado Park is rising. Our communities are waking up. Our youth are leading. And **Eldorado Park will never be the same again!** πŸš€πŸŒ

**Triveen, we salute you! 🫑 We are with you all the way, and the Food For The Hood family proudly stands behind you!**

🌱 **ANOTHER GARDEN IN A BUCKET β€” ANOTHER FAMILY GROWING TOWARDS SELF-SUSTAINABILITY!** 🌱

Today, we are proud to celebrate another beautiful **Garden in a Bucket** making its way into the hands of a young mother who is excited to grow her own food and, even more importantly, raise her children with the knowledge and values of **self-sustainable living**. πŸͺ΄β€οΈ

This is what community farming is all about β€” planting seeds that go far beyond the soil. It’s about teaching our children where their food comes from, creating healthier homes, building independence and inspiring families to believe that we **can produce something for ourselves**.

A garden may start with just a bucket, a few plants and some soil, but the possibilities are endless. 🌱

A huge **THANK YOU** to **Food & Trees for Africa** and **Curtis** for helping us make these gardens possible and for believing in the power of communities to grow together. πŸ™πŸ½

Every bucket is another step.
Every seed is another opportunity.
Every family that starts growing is another step towards a more self-sustainable community.

**Join us as we farm together, learn together and grow together β€” towards a stronger, healthier and more self-sustainable community.** 🌍🌱
